Zvara has magic touch
Illusion, mind reading and making things disappear are just some of the talents of one Delta student and entrepreneur. Whether its guessing a card chosen by an audience member or making salt shakers disappear, you can count on Cameron Zvara.
A Delta student and stage magician, Zvara has his own magic business. He has been running his business from the time he was in middle school and is now pursuing a degree in Marketing and Advertising.
Zvara, of Bay City, got interesting in magic early in life. He said dressing up as a magician for Halloween sparked his interest.
"It started when I was in preschool,” said Zvara. “I got a magic kit and started performing.”
He later met stage magician Mark Bellinger, who brought him onstage and did a magic trick. This got Zvara hooked.
“He brought me onstage where he gave me a handful of crayons. I put a crayon in his hand when he wasn't looking,” said Zvara. “He turned around, looked into my eyes and then he told me the exact color I put in his hand out of the whole possibilities it could have been. Then he taught me how he did it.”
Zvara is currently working on a routine to get the same trick into his performance. He hopes that he’ll be able to inspire others to perform stage magic, like Bellinger did for him.
Another influence was an uncle that had been an actor who died before he was born. His influence lived through is nephew.
“Hes had a huge impact on my life through stories my family told about him,” said Zvara. “They say I remind them of him, it kept me going.”
When he was in the third grade, Zvara started acting, which he later combined with his stage magic. He got his start in acting with the Bay City Players.
“I was trained by some really great actors and great directors,” Zvara said. “It was a great experience.”
He combined the two arts to create his business at the age of 12. His act has evolved, during his sophomore year he began using comedy with his magic, and it stuck with him. 12
