Bay County Commissioners vote against LGBT ordinance 4-3

After over two months of deliberation, the Bay County Board of Commissioners have voted down a proposed ordinance that would have banned discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in all Bay County-related employment and contract agreements.

The final 4-3 vote took place on March 11 at the Bay County Building after several meetings, input from the public and a series of votes.

Those voting against the ordinance were Brandon Krause, D-1st District; Vaughn Begick, R-3rd District, Tom Herek, D-5th District and Michael Lutz, D-7th District. Those voting in favor of the ordinance were Ernie Krygier, D-2nd District, Kim Coonan, D-4th District and Don Tilley, D-6th District.123
