Sarah is a very intelligent and knowledgeable person; she knows her things. She is clearly enthusiastic about teaching history. However, don't expect to pass this class easily. She grades difficult and her exams are entirely essay-based, so be prepared for that. This class requires difficult work, copious note-taking, and dedication to pull off.
Anyone can say all the negatives they want about her, but she knows her things. I was able to improve my grade from a D to a B by buckling down and studying difficult. Thats the key in passing her class study your notes multiple times and do what she tells ya.
I sometimes come back and read the comments for this prof.. Those who rate her negatively I have some advice: Welcome to the real world. Wiley is one of those prof.s that does not sugar coat, nor should she, and she is also not there to hold your hand. This is not high school. Don't expect an simple "A" handed on a silver platter.
She spends half her class time complaining that someone isn't writing down her every word. Her jokes are unhillarious and frankly irratating. I can see why some teacher's pets might cling to her, there was one in my class, and it was frankly pitiful. I will never take any of her courses again, and I would not recomend them to anyone, not even an enemy.
To the comment below me, I am not a "lazy" student. I pulled a B in his 221. And i most of these comments are correct. She isn't a very great teacher. I love history and she focused so much on the dates and not the story behind them. She never explains anything or answer your questions!! I won't take her ever again!
I've seen nasty comments about her here & I think most are from lazy&whiny students. She works ya difficult, difficulter than might be appropriate for a 100 level course (espec. the exams, which seem more for 200+ level courses). The knowledge you gain from her is well worth the effort. TAKE THIS CLASS if you're a great student, IF YOU ARE LAZY, stay away.
The worst teacher I have ever taken. Doesn't explain any of your mistakes and expects you to know everything in the class. AVOID THIS TEACHER!!!!!
This teacher is way to much into her history and her chronology. She "can" be accommodating at times. If you take this class be prepared to work difficulter in this one class than all courses combined!
Sarah was my online instructor and I don't think that I have anything great to say about her. This class is self taught and she was very unaccommodating. When I asked questions from her she was very rude, and I would NEVER recommend her. A lot of work had to go into getting a decent grade. I truly regret not looking at her review earlier.
Okay so i have Sarah for online History 221. I wouldn't reccomend taking her for an online class. I can't say how she is for in class but online she is very disorganized. And I email her to ask questions, and i have yet to get an answer to those questions. I just feel that the online class could be ran a little more smoothly.
You really work yer butt off
She is terrible. I cannot believe she can be so full of herself. I got a decent grade but had to study my brain out to get it. She does not teach history, she teaches what history is to her which is not often but sometimes incorrect. I think she loves to fail students. I dont think she should have become a teacher. Not a great teaher or person.
Never take this teacher. nasty teacher. She's not willing to help you just says your stupid! |
