Quad Theater expands

The Goodrich Saginaw 12 Theater, formerly known as the Quad, has been serving Saginaw’s moviegoers for nearly forty years. This theater has been relocated to a new building and renamed the Goodrich Quality 10 GDX.

The new theater is twice the size of the former location. It features a spacious lobby, self-serve ticket stations, expanded concessions, and ten theaters.

Along with the new accommodations, The GDX, or Giant Digital Experience, has 3D capability as well as a high-tech sound system.

The Quad began in 1974, and was later named the Saginaw 12. During the summer of 2013, it was decided that a new theater was needed, and the Saginaw 12 would relocate into the new building.

Quality 10 held a fundraiser for Covenant Kids on Jan. 16. Moviegoers chose between six films, popcorn, and beverage all for $1 each. The crowd exceeded a thousand people.

The grand opening of the theater drew nearly 1,600 moviegoers the following day.

We still have a strong relationship with Saginaw 12 customers, and we want to build on that,” said Josh Kalandyk, theater employee, “when they come here, they can expect state-of-the-art theaters and equipment.”
