Women lose at home

The Pioneers suffered their first home loss against St. Clair with a final score of 110-69 on Jan 18.

In the first period Delta was down in points and off their game. The ladies made a comeback but couldn’t out score St. Clair.

Foul trouble in the first half put the Pioneers behind, and turnovers in the second half kept them behind. They didn’t give up they fought hard to the end.

Rebounds were another flaw in Delta’s game. The Center for St. Clair, Rachel Kehoe, collected 13 rebounds, eight coming on offense, and five on defense. The Pioneer’s only collected 27, as a team.

Although Delta lost they played well defensively, forcing 13 steals, to St. Clair’s four.

“It was a rough one,” Coach Kelly Miller said, “the refs were touchy and that took us out of our aggressiveness.”
